This is a Filipino version of Swiss Roll or Roll cake. The base is chiffon cake; it is soft and fluffy. This roll cake is filled with margarine and sugar. For this video we will make different colors and flavors of pianono. And we will fill it with ube halaya, caramel sauce, nutella and strawberry. It is a perfect midday snack and pair with coffee or tea.
ingredients:
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup white sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp salt
1 tbsp powdered milk
1/8 cup water
1/8 cup cooking oil
2 eggs yolks
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
Meringue:
2 eggs whites
1/8 tsp white vinegar
1/4 cup white sugar
additional flavor:
1/2 tsp ube flavor & color
1/2 tsp buko pandan
1/4 tsp strawberry flavor & 1/8 tsp red food color
Filling:
margarine and white sugar
Ube halaya
caramel sauce
strawberry filling & buttercream
