Long, Whispering Grasses - What Secrets Do They Hide?

Primal mankind stalked and was stalked in the long, lush pasture and grasslands of our pre-history. In June, with summertime fields stuffed full of long grasses it's not to hard to imagine a saber-toothed tiger or two lurking, just waiting, to prey upon the unwary passing hiker. Luckily, Leicestershire seems to be short of predatory beasts, but I wouldn't be too surprised if I didn't happen upon some kind of hidden wildlife!
