Escaping North Korea is extremely dangerous, but these two young Koreans fled the country to make a new life for themselves in South Korea. What was it like going on the dangerous journey through China? How did they adjust to a new life in the world’s most connected country, when they were born in a place with just one TV channel and little access to the internet?

What was it like to leave the country where they grew up, and do they still miss their childhood home, when that home was North Korea?

Newsround spent a week in South Korea finding out what life is like in a country that's often in the news. South Korea is home to a  diverse mix of young people living life in the world's most connected nation. We met with young people who have fled from neighbouring North Korea, as well as people attending a K-pop school. We also heard from people about the pressures of K-beauty and found out how the South Korean government is helping people who are addicted to the internet.
