The EU Commission
"In carrying out its responsibilities, the (unelected) EU Commission shall be COMPLETELY INDEPENDENT. The members of the Commission SHALL NEITHER SEEK NOR TAKE INSTRUCTIONS FROM ANY GOVERNMENT, OR OTHER INSTITUTION, BODY, OFFICE OR ENTITY.

"EU LEGISLATIVE ACTS MAY ONLY BE ADOPTED ON THE BASIS OF AN EU COMMISSION PROPOSAL...

The EU Parliament
"In the EU there's a thing called a Parliament - but it's not a Parliament as we know it. In the EU the Parliament is not in charge.
"This is THE ONLY PARLIAMENT that anyone has ever invented, WHERE YOU CANNOT INITIATE LEGISLATION, PROPOSE LEGISLATION, OR EVEN REPEAL LEGISLATION.  All of that comes from the unelected EU Commission...
"So you can't propose a law, and try to get it passed?"
"No - absolutely not!"
"With a Parliamentary democracy you can throw everything out of the window every five years, and start again.  HERE, ONCE SOMETHING IS EUROPEAN LAW, THERE IS NOTHING, THROUGH THE DEMOCRATIC PROCESS,  THE VOTER CAN DO TO CHANGE IT..."

The Lisbon Treaty
"This treaty began its life as a European Constitution to be approved by the people of Europe in an open and democratic manner, i.e. by a series of referendums in member states.
The Danish and the Spanish approved the Constitution but, in May 2005, the French rejected it by 55 per cent in a referendum with a 70 per cent turnout.
The next day an even bigger majority of Dutch voters, 62 per cent, similarly rejected the Constitution:

"THE RESPONSE OF BRUSSELS WAS TO REPACKAGE THE CONSTITUTION IN THE FORM OF A TREATY, THEREBY DISPENSING WITH THE AWKWARD BUSINESS OF GIVING THE PEOPLE OF EUROPE A SAY in the structures that will shape all of our futures at European level into the future... (Irish Times - 7 May 2008)

.
Valéry Giscard d'Estaing (former President of France) said: “PUBLIC OPINION WILL BE LED TO ADOPT, WITHOUT KNOWING IT, THE PROPOSALS THAT WE DARE NOT PRESENT TO THEM DIRECTLY ...
"The new Lisbon treaty "still contains all the key elements of the EU Constitution - all the earlier proposals will be in the new text -  but they will be HIDDEN AND DISGUISED in some way...
.
"D’Estaing said: The approach “is to keep a part of the innovations of the Constitutional treaty, and to split them into several texts, IN ORDER TO MAKE THEM LESS VISIBLE.
The most innovative dispositions would pass as simple amendments of the Maastricht and Nice treaties.
The technical improvements would be gathered in an innocuous treaty. The whole would be addressed to Parliaments, which would decide with separate votes.
THE PUBLIC WILL THEREFORE UNKNOWINGLY ADOPT THE DISPOSITIONS WHICH IT WOULD NOT ACCEPT IF PRESENTED DIRECTLY.”
