Kiran Bhakta Joshi is the founder of Incessant Rain Animation Studios.Founded in January 2008,Incessant Rain Animation Studios is one -step creative solution for quality digital animation flawless visual effects along with diverse team of artistic and technical talents.

At the age of 19, Kiran Bhakta Joshi left Nepal for California. Mr. Kiran did not have any passion and plans for future when he came to California. What he had was only 200 dollars. He then started to search for jobs and also did a few part time jobs. While doing some part time jobs he came across a computer and thought it was cool .So later he went on to major in Computer Science.

One fine day he saw a job opening at Disney for programmer and with a background in computer software, he applied for the job. Luckily he got selected for the job but once he started working in disney as software developer he got fascinated towards animation. This is when he decided to learn animation and develop a career in it.The first film that he worked on was “Beauty and Beast”.  He happened to land at the different projects at early stages. He designed a very sophisticated system to create massive characters in animation during "The Lion King". At that time, it was the first of its kind which elevated him at Disney. Right after ‘The Lion King’, he got promoted to the head of computer graphics division. He had worked in many projects like ‘Aladdin’, ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’, ‘Atlantis’. He worked at Disney for 18 years.

In 2007, an unexpected had happened. An accident that killed his dear ones because of which he had come to Nepal for the funeral. It was during this time one of his friends suggested him to open a studio in Nepal. He then spent three weeks in small animation boutiques and was impressed to see the portfolios of the skilled and passionate young artists but the main problem was no proper studios to work.

During this time he also met an 18 year old guy whose passion was animation but due to some circumstances, he had to differ from his passion. The powerful words of this 18 year old guy asking Mr. Kiran for the help made him decide to open an animation studio in Nepal and assemble a team. He left his job of 18 years at the Walt Disney Studios to create his own studio in Kathmandu.

When one of his artists decided to quit due to lack of support in his career choice from his family, Mr Kiran thought of opening an Open House in which the friends and family of the animators could come and see their work. More than 175 parents attended the event and one of them was the mother of the artist who had applied to resign. And ever since, open houses have become an annual feature at the office

So far, the company has worked on 100 movies, more than 110 television series. In 2015, Incessant rain Studios, produced the documentary,’Moving Mountains’,with the British Red Cross on the stories of ten survivors of 1934 earthquake in eastern Nepal and showed Dharahara tower in Kathmandu collapsing in a future quake. The film was criticized but within a month of its release Nepal was struck by April 2015 earthquake when the Dharahara actually collapsed. He believes that employees are the most valuable assets of a business.

Mr. Kiran, ”I want to be known not as a Disney guy or Incessant Rain guy, but that guy who took these amazing stories of Nepal, its culture and art and characters to the rest of the world”.
