29 October, 2022. Final stretch of the Dingboche-Thukla hike, passing through the moraines. The mountains visible at 00:19 are Tobuche (also known as Taboche, 6495m, left) and Cholatse (also known as Jobo Lhaptshan, 6440m). The mountain visible at 06:13 is the epic Ama Dablam (6812m). The video ends while enjoying a honey-ginger-lemon tea (09:59) at Kalapathar Lodge (08:12) in Thukla (06:38, also known as Dughla or Gughla, elevation: 4620m), where we stopped for a lunch break. Thukla is located at the southest end of the Khumbu Glacier, with milky water actually flowing (05:50) from the melting of the same glacier that descends all the way from the Everest mountain. Other notable parts include a rescue helicopter (03:07) and a Sherpa porter at work (06:38). Thukla is a settlement and the famous start point of a constituent short, but very steep hike towards the memorial area, with many memorials dedicated to the climbers' lives lost to summit Mt. Everest. The hiking path then continues further towards Lobuche and Gorakshep.
