Tanglewood Overwater Bass Guitars

We were to see the arrival of the first shipment of Chris May's Overwater bass guitars being made by Tanglewood. Chris who is head honcho at the very respected UK bass manufacturer Overwater wanted to work with a company who could help him bring his designs to a wider audience than the incredible Custom Shop basses coming out of the Overwater workshop in Carlisle could do. We turned up just as they were opening the first few boxes, probably rather a nerve racking time when you have the first batch of guitars which have been two years in the making. So we first had a wander round the Tanglewood warehouse to see what we could find... Chris was a gent and obviously very knowledgeable about his trade. One thing we noticed was he passionately wanted these basses to be right. It mattered to him that people would like them and his attention to detail is impressive. Overwater basses will be in stock at the Musicians Centre from the 7th of March 2011. We thank him for talking to us and letting us shove a camera in his face. The Koa Acoustic we took a sneaky peak at when we weren't being watched will be available from the 4th of March as should the new gloss versions of the Exotic Evolution dreadnought in Bubinga.
