Synology is warning NAS users about several ransomware attacks that have hit several users now. Watch this video to learn more on how to prevent these on your Synology NAS server.
The attackers uses brute-force methods to guess the default password—essentially, they try every password possible until they get a match. Once they find the right password and gain access to the NAS device, the hackers encrypt all the files and demand a ransom.
Things you can do:
1. Disable Remote Access
2. Use A VPN for Remote Access
3. Secure Remote Access as Much as Possible
4. Turning on your Synology firewall
5. Enable 2-step verification
6. Run Security Advisor
