This is a Stevens Model
This is a Stevens Model 85A circa 1951 which is the twin brother of the Savage Model 7A, a magazine fed semi automatic legend in the rimfire community known affectionately as the Click Clack gun, the Gill Gun, Old Clickety Clack, the "Three in One" rifle.........among other names. It's long been one of my favorites, basically a unique and very interesting design that begs for a closer look into it's strange operation.
Come along as we, as usual, check into it's patents and unique design elements and explore a bit of its history and similar models like the Savage Model 6A. If you are interested in what you see related to the Model 6A, feel free to explore the two videos I have posted on it.....one on its design and another on how, specifically, I managed to date it (approx 1939) without a serial number or date marking.
