This 3D animation depicts the placement of laparoscopic trocars in the abdomen. It begins with an antero-lateral view of a patient's abdomen prepped for surgery. The skin is elevated and an incision is made at the umbilicus. A trocar is inserted through the incision. We are given a sagittal view and video of the view from the scope. The right and left trocars are inserted under direct visualization. We see the interior of the abdomen with trocars in place.
