He totaled a new career playoff high at the time with 28 points to go with 8 boards and 4 dimes. Shaq, while quiet, had a better outing than he did in game 1, pouring in 16 points (7-11 FG) with 8 rebounds. After the Lakers got off to a great start while staying close all game, the latest they would lead was in the final minute of the 4th after a clutch contested three by Kobe in the corner off an inbound pass. The Lakers would follow that up with mistakes that's common among young teams and they would find themselves down 0-2 instead of tied 1-1.
