Anyone who is planning a backpacking trip to Indonesia has already heard about the famous rice terraces of Tegalalang around Ubud in Bali. These and many others in Bali have now become purely tourist attractions and no longer offer any authentic character.

How about the completely untouched rice fields in Tetebatu on Bali's neighboring island of Lombok instead? There you will find at least as beautiful rice terraces, hidden waterfalls, wild monkeys and the real life of the people of Lombok. And all without other tourists!

We couldn't believe the beauty of this place and can only recommend a trip to Tetebatu to everyone. We love such authentic travel experiences, where nothing was created specifically for tourism, but nature and people are as they are. One of our absolute favorite places in all of Indonesia!
