The last of the American pre-dreadnought designs, the Mississippi-class were a mess of compromises. Limited in tonnage and overall size, they were filled with flaws. Slow, poor seaboats, with the obsolete pre-dreadnought gun layout. In most cases, they would have been scrapped within a few years as a lost cause.

Enter Greece, where they would endure for nearly two decades. Before finally ending in a fire of German bombs, come World War Two.
