History of Phoenix, Arizona: W. R. Norton Architect Developer Homesteader and Founder of Sunnyslope

William R. Norton was a pioneer Arizona and California architect who worked in Phoenix, Prescott, Globe, and Winslow, Arizona and in the greater San Francisco and Los Angeles areas in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Several of Norton’s works from these locations are described and displayed in this video. Norton also homesteaded on the desert adjacent to Phoenix and was responsible for founding the community of Sunnyslope, Arizona, now a part of Phoenix.
