✅Attribute Mappings is a convenient way to link properties from CAD with properties in Teamcenter. It is then available for the Save, Load, Import / Export, and Update Title Block.
✅They are used to store OEM attributes of a component in their corresponding form in Teamcenter during the Import process. Attribute Mapping can be Bi-Directional, CAD to PLM, and Vice versa.
✅Attribute Mappings are case-sensitive. Administrators can configure attribute mapping through preferences or XML Map Files.
✅You cannot override or remove the hard-coded mappings, but you can create additional, custom mappings. It does not support multiple values for a single property/attribute.
💡key Components of Attribute Mapping:
Source Attributes: These are the attributes associated with data in the source system (e.g., CAD software).
Target Attributes: These are the corresponding attributes in the target system (e.g., PLM system).
Mapping Rules: These define how attributes in the source system correspond to or transform into attributes in the target system. Mapping rules are essential for ensuring accurate and meaningful data transfer.
