A little departure from our
A little departure from our normal stuff. This is some GoPro video from SeaFair on 8/4/24. Great views of Renton Airport, Lake Washington and the log boom at SeaFair.
For the last several years, the KCSO Air Support Unit has been honored to present the colors on the Sunday morning of SeaFair. To accomplish this mission, we have a giant flag that we fly under the aircraft on a 100' long line. We usually hang weights under the flag to keep it tight, but this year one of our crewmen offered (insisted?) on being the weight to keep big 'merica flying right under the aircraft.
When we were making this video, a couple things occurred to us that we would like to share. The flag is being carried by a former US military UH-1 that was built in 1970 and served her country. Our crew that day was made up of three former US Army soldiers, and a former US Coast Guardsmen. Between the four crewmen that day, there was a combined 97 years of service as Sheriff's deputies.
We are proud to get to participate in SeaFair every year.
