In this short video, Maria Montgomery shows you how to hook up a gooseneck trailer.
First, drop the tail gate on your truck. Then, raise your gooseneck coupler above the ball in the bed of your truck before you backing up. Once your coupler is aligned above the ball, unlatch the coupler so that it is in open position and begin to lower the trailer onto the ball.
Then, secure the jack handle and raise the jack foots into the upper position by simple releasing the pin and allowing the spring-assist to pull them back up.
Next, connect the breakaway cable directly to a secure point on the hitch system. Attach the safety chains to either the u-bolts or d-rings on your gooseneck hitch, close the coupler and latch the safety pin.
After that, hook up your seven-way plug either on the side of the bed or over your tailgate under the bumper. Lastly, inspect your trailer to check that your marker lights, brake lights and turning signals are all functioning properly.
That’s it. You're all set. Now, you can put your Gatormade, Big Muscle Trailer to work.
