This is the story of
This is the story of my first love. I fell into deep, helpless love with my best friend. But I was also deeply in the closet. And it turned out that he was in love with me too. But neither of us knew, and we were stuck in this almost twilight zone where we both loved each other, didn't admit it, and somehow couldn't be together. We were so close, yet so unable be close.
It was my first. And it was a strong, undeniable force.
I was inspired by the LGBTQ movie Your Name Engraved Herein to share my story. The movie iterated the saying that "Everyone's first love is as great as an epic movie." And the power of that first love that I saw in the movie was just as potent in my experience. This kind of love can build up such strong jealousy, desire, and pain. Yet, it's so beautiful and sweet.
I start off talking about how the movie inspired me to make this video, and then I begin my story by introducing the character Samuel Kim who "ditched" me in a group project. That was really the impetus for me to seek a best friend like the boy I fell in love with, Theo. I took my time with the storytelling, so I hope it doesn't come off as too slow in the beginning.
