This is footage from when I took a couple of enhydro geodes to a nearby university to crack open and then examine the water that came out of them under a microscope. It had been kind of a stressful time, I'd never had a video blow up before and I simply was not prepared for everything that came with that. However, this was a fun experience! The geode water was very interesting under a microscope. Most of the color changes that you see are due to the various lighting that is used interacting with the water. This was a Warsaw formation geode, which began to form from a mass extinction event (the Mississippian age). The event began 330 million years ago, and the water could have been trapped up to that time, though likely somewhere in the middle. Geodes are porous until a certain point in their formation, after which they cease (usually) to be porous. So somewhat rarely they can have water trapped inside. This is called "an enhydro".
