A spontaneous and creative RTP in Shanmukhapriya is an exquisite video recording from a live concert held on 19th October 1991.

I sincerely thank Dr. Srinivasa for sharing this priceless recording and appreciate his continued support for the cause of posterity.

Dr. M Balamuralikrishna is accompanied on the violin by Sri. B V Raghavendra Rao and Sri. Dara Appala Srinivas accompanies on the mridangam.

Like many of his RTPs, this is also an on the spot creation and watching the video and listening to it provides a unique experience.

The RTP is rendered in Trishra jāti Jhampe tālam.

The off-set (Ettugada / Edupu) for the take-off  of pallavi is after the 2 akshrās from the start of the tala cycle. And the pada-garbam / arudhi (end of the purvāngam, the first half of the pallavi ending at the strike of the beginning of the second half of the tālam cycle) is 4 counts.
