Bhagavad Gita Chapter 2 (English): Mere intellectual contemplation is not enough to get rid of our ignorance which is rooted in our intellect itself. The ignorance has separated us from God and drowned us in a multitude of defects like anger, hatred, greed, lust, envy, and illusion. The soul, being a fragmental part of God, is also divine. We need a Guru or an enlightened teacher who has realized the Supreme truth, to help us get rid of our ignorance and comprehend the soul. Swami Vivekananda had said, “The living secrets must be passed down from master to disciple in every science, much more so in spiritual science.”
The whole world is amazing, from the tiniest atoms to the largest galaxies, for they are all wonderful creations of God. The most amazing is the Supreme Lord himself. In Bhagavad Gita Chapter 2 Sloka 29, Shree Krishna points out that the soul is more amazing than the things of the world, being transcendental to material existence. The existence and nature of the soul are impossible to grasp without following the instructions of a bonafide spiritual master (a Sadhguru). In Bhagavad Gita Chapter 2 Verse 30, Shree Krishna summarizes his instructions on the immortality of the self, and its distinction from the body by stating that "O Arjun, the soul that dwells within the body is immortal; therefore, you should not mourn for anyone."
