I wanted to add a sail and a rudder to my Current Design Sirocco kayak that I will be using on the everglades challenge in 2025. Everything was looking good until I tried to actually use the modifications that I made, and after one rollover, the mast step broke. I know now what modifications I could make to beef up the step, but as far as practical use, my design is a failed one without being able to raise and lower the sail from a horizontal position to upright from the seated position. I did learn a lot though and I feel confident that I will be sailing my kayak in the very near future, just with a Falcon Sail next time :)
