Ingredients:
1 lb elbow macaroni
4 tbsp butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
3 cups milk
1.5 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
2 cups shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
1.5 cups grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup bread crumbs
Instructions:
Cook macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour and stir until well combined to create a roux.
Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens into a creamy sauce.
Season with salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Stir in cheddar or mozzarella and Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix macaroni with cheese sauce, then pour into a greased casserole dish. Top with bread crumbs.
Bake macaroni and cheese for 30-35 minutes until golden and bubbly. Let cool before serving.
