In this video we will see all the winners of the best player in the world award, better known as the Ballon d'Or.
Until 1995, the award was restricted to Europeans only. The Argentines Alfredo Di Stéfano (in 1957 and 1959) and Omar Sivori (in 1961) and the Mozambican-Portuguese Eusébio (in 1965) received the award before that, but respectively as Spanish, Italian and Portuguese citizens. The first non-European citizen to win the Ballon d'Or was Liberian George Weah in 1995, but until 2006 the award continued to only consider players who played in Europe. From the 2007 edition onwards, players from anywhere in the world were included.
