We're starting off strong with DESSERT WONTONS as the first part of our new ASIAN DESSERT series! There are a lot of online recipes that have filled wontons with fruit or chocolate, but why not make wontons that reflect our Asian tastebuds? That's why we included red beans and made a coconut milk sauce to go with our yummy fried dessert! This recipe isn't traditional by any means but sometimes you just need a quick easy dessert that satisfies your Asian dessert cravings! (trust me when I say that our red bean wontons taste like TAIYAKI!!!)

Not to mention, our nutella wontons (who doesn't love nutella) and custard cream wontons are each amazing additions to this wonton dessert recipe. Each flavor satisfies in its own unique way.

Here's our DESSERT WONTON RECIPE! Happy cooking, guys!

"Wonton Station Equipment"
1. Small bowl of cold water
2. Cutting Board
3. Wonton wrappers (you can use round or square shape)
4. Plate dusted with corn starch (to place your finished wontons when done folding)

Dessert Wontons Recipe (this includes more of how I folded the wontons since that's the majority of the "difficulty" for this recipe)
1. Take 1 wrapper; lay it flat on your cutting board.
2. Using a finger, dip it in water and gently dab the edges of your wonton wrapper. (This water will act as a "glue" to make sure your filling stays put!)
3. Add 1-2 tsp. of filling to the center of your wonton wrapper. (We used custard cream, nutella, and red beans)
4. For half-moon shape: Fold wrapper in half and match up ends. Seal by gently dabbing the edges again.
5. For "boat-shape": Fold in half, pressing the wonton at the center. Pry open 1 side of wonton and fold wrapper inwards. This will create two little "wings" which you can press together to seal. Do the same for the other side of the wonton.
6. For wonton with folds/crimps: Make a half-moon shape (see step 4) but don't seal the edges yet. Pick one edge to start with. From that point, make little folds inwards while using sedentary thumb to hold down all the crimps you've folded so far. Continue until you've reached the other end of your wonton.
7. Heat up 3 inches of oil in pan. You can do a "fry test" to see if oil is hot enough.
8. Fry 3 wontons at a time (depending on the size of your pan/pot). Do not overcrowd the pan as this will change the temperature of the oil itself.
9. Take out wontons when they have turned just golden brown (1-2 minutes total).

Custard Cream Filling
1. Whisk 1 cup heavy cream using electric whisk.
2. When fluffy, add 1 tbsp powdered sugar. Then continue to whisk for 1 minute.
3. Add half a box of instant vanilla pudding. Continue to whisk for another 30 seconds. It should be a thick custard consistency!

5-Minute Coconut Milk Sauce
1. Heat a pot to medium-high heat.
2. Add half can of coconut milk, quarter can of condensed milk, and 1 tsp tapioca starch. Bring to boil.
3. Transfer sauce to ramekin and let cool for 10 minutes.
