Heart Shaped Ring Box

http://www.fouroakscrafts.com In this video, I demonstrate how to make a wooden ring box that's shaped like a heart. Makes for a great Valentine's Day gift or a place to store your wedding ring.

My inspiration for this ring box came from a project printed in Scrollsaw Woodworking & Crafts Magazine. However, I have made my ring box, using a different template and using different methods.

I'm currently working on a full plans and tutorial article for my blog and will let you know when that is ready.

I used Mesquite wood for the body of my boxes. And for one box, I used Red Oak as the contrasting wood for the lid and bottom. For the other box, I used Olive wood for the lid.

The scrollsaw worked great for cutting out the boxes. And my new spindle sander came in handy on the sanding part.
