WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INTONATION & SENTENCE STRESS?
Many nonnative English speakers find intonation and sentence stress a bit confusing because they are both very similar--but here is the difference: SENTENCE STRESS is focusing on WHICH parts of the sentence are stressing/emphasizing? Stressing/emphasizing certain parts of a sentence helps the main ideas be communicated clearly to your listeners.

WHAT IS INTONATION?
Intonation is the rising and falling of your voice. So, intonation has to happen whenever you want to stress a word or a phrase. To stress/emphasize something you will need to use intonation--you will need to rise or lower your voice.
