Today I'm making a Blackberry Goji Whipped Body Butter. I have kept this body butter lightweight and non-greasy by using 2 degreasing ingredients. I absolutely love how this body butter moisturizes my skin intensely, while still absorbing quickly. I love using Shea Butter and Sal Butter for my whipped butters because they are soft, which means that the butter will not harden after sitting and will remain soft and whipped!*
*My Sal Butter is from Wholesale Supplies Plus and is very soft. I have, however, used Sal Butter that was hard, which will not result in the same consistency. Technically, Sal is considered a hard butter. If you do not have soft Sal Butter on hand, use more Shea Butter and less Sal Butter.
SUBSTITUTION SUGGESTIONS:
Shea Butter and Sal Butter: any soft butter, in my experience Mango Butter works well.
Isopropyl Myristate: Isoamyl Laurate, Coco Caprylate Caprate, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Ethylhexyl Palmitate
Silica Microspheres: Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Penstia Powder
Blackberry and Goji Berry Oils: any plant oil you like!
Here's the formula!
PHASE A/HEATED PHASE:
30% Sal Butter
20% Shea Butter
7.5% Isopropyl Myristate
20% Goji Berry Seed Oil
2% Silica Microspheres
PHASE B/COOL-DOWN PHASE:
20% Blackberry Seed Oil
0.5% Vitamin E
It doesn't matter if you add the Goji Berry or Blackberry Seed Oil in the cool-down, one or the other is totally fine. This is to speed up the cool-down and solidification process.
