Many international students often wonder whether it would be best for them to study in Canada or the USA.

There are many aspects of both countries that can be attractive to an international student, but there are also some very important considerations about each country's educational system, economy, and culture that you should know before making your decision to study there as an international student.

In this video I will cover what these considerations might be and offer my opinion on which country is better for a particular type of student.

In answering this million-dollar question of which country is better for international students, we have to evaluate the pros and cons of studying in Canada and USA, using 5 factors.

These factors are the Quality of Education, Cost of Education for International Students, Quality of Life, Employment Opportunities, and Immigration Policies towards nonimmigrants such as international students.

On the Quality of Education, Canada and the United States are about the same. However, the United States has Canada beat when it comes to the quality of academic research. So, for an international student who wants to pursue a research based academic program, the US has the edge.

When it comes to the cost of education for international students, the cost is lower in Canada compared to the United States. So, overall Canada is best for international students here.

On the Quality of Life, one would consider things like the cost of living and the level of taxation between Canada and the United States. However, with these considerations, there is a lot of variability based on your location in Canada or in the United States. However, when considering things like the climate condition, the United States wins by a landslide and is best for international students.

With the employment opportunities, the US is best for international students simply because the large US economy provides a lot of employment opportunities for everyone, international students included.

Finally, when considering the immigration policies towards international students, you will find that Canada is a clear winner.
