Welcome to Sousse! The beachside local town just a few hours from Tunis and the touristy Hammamet. Tunisia may be the gem of North Africa but Sousse is the gem of Tunisia.
In this video I explore what it is like to be a local Tunisian here in Sousse.

GETTING THERE/Louage System
I travelled to Sousse from Tunis using their national Louage system, which is basically a shared minibus that has a set route from one city in Tunisia to another. They are very easy to use, a little bit overwhelming, but overall not too complicated.
You simply go to the ticket desk, buy a ticket and find a louage to your destination.
Things to note:
- Some louage drivers may offer to take you to your destination and you would have to pay them directly. But I would recommend you simply buy the ticket from the ticket desk and then find them.
- You will have to wait until the louage is completely full before it leaves the station. And whilst you do they do not use air conditioning.
- They also do not use air conditioning whilst in transit, so make sure to sit by a window or at the front if you get car sick!

SITES:
Sousse is not very big and you can see everything by day and then chill by the beach and soak up the atmosphere in the evening. But I would recommend visiting the medina and the main Sousse square, Sousse fort and the Grand Mosque. However, be aware you may need to pay entry to the Grand Mosque as a tourist. I refused.

How long?
I think 2D2N is perfect in Sousse. 1 day in Sousse and a day trip to El Jem.

Hope you find the video helpful and entertaining. Apologies for my poor Arabic!
