Hari Raya Puasa or Aidilfitri is the time of Ramadan, where Muslim individuals will fast for a month according to the Islamic calendar, then they will celebrate the end of the fasting by celebrating with lots of good food and company. We often see many decorations during the Hari Raya season that are often a weaved decoration or food of some sort. The act of weaving can be seen with our Ketupats' and in this case, the Pelita's that are decorated outside of houses! This activity allows children to learn how to weave and turn them into a DIY Pelita that they can be proud of.
