In the 1920s, the Southside of Chicago's Policy Syndicate was ran by the people like Samuel "Policy Sam" Young, Dan Jackson, Julien Black, Charlie Jackson (Dan Jackson's brother) and Henry "Teenan" Jones. These men took over the syndicate from John "Mushmouth" Johnson and Robert Motts. This is also the time when Oscar Depriest and Dan Jackson were elected as aldermen to the second and third wards. As a politician Dan was able to have great power over the gambling syndicate. Other gambling saloons were sometimes raided by the police but Dan's and his crime syndicate were often free to stay open for business. #Bronzeville #southside #chicago #policykings #syndicate #black #gang #gangster #johnmushmouthjohnson #julianblack #oscarfepriest #danjackson #gambling
