Nigeria: Niger Delta Avengers claim responsibility for southern Niger attacks

The Niger Delta Avengers have claimed responsibilty for  about five attacks targeting oil companies since Friday in Nigeria's southern Delta.

The group said it had issued prior warning to oil companies to stop ongoing repair works.

This is the first time the avengers are claiming responsibility since June 16.

Frequent attacks  by  the group   had reduced oil  production in Nigeria which  had started rising last week as the number of attacks reduced.
