The suspect convicted in the murder of Frank Q. Jackson, the grandson of Cleveland Mayor Frank G. Jackson, will be sentenced Tuesday in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court.
Robert Shepard, 30, was found guilty on October 31 of the following: one count of aggravated murder, one count of murder, and two counts of felonious assault.
Cleveland police say on September 19, 2021, Jackson, 24, was dropped off by a third party near Sidaway Avenue and East 70th Street.
According to investigators, that's when Shephard lured Jackson to an area where he was shot by another unidentified individual. Both Shepard and the other person took off after the shooting. Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shepard was arrested on October 27, 2021 near the intersection of East 46th and Central in Cleveland with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service.
