This aviary is occupied by several white java sparrows and several other finches. It's scaly breasted munia, white headed munia and tricolor munia. They have been together since around 2020. At first we had 5 white java sparrows, then they breed, which in the end there are about 20 java sparrows here, this doesn't include the java sparrows that we have given to other people and some others who died before reaching adulthood. While the other finches are caught by farmers around here, these birds are considered pests by farmers because they eat crops in the fields, and also eat crops that are being dried outside.

In the past around 2010, I often saw wild whiteheaded munia in the rice fields. They eat rice seeds, they flock in large numbers. Until 2018, I just found out that there is black-headed munia, and then there is tricolor munia, and scaly breasted munia, and others. Now what is often seen in the rice fields is the tricolor munia. I'm trying to understand, is this because they interbreed with birds of a different color.. And also there are not as many of them as before.. In the past they were seen more often than house sparrows, now there are lots of house sparrows everywhere. Is this because sparrows are bigger and more agile? I've only noticed things like this in the last few years. I also started looking at some videos and articles about scientific science. This is fun..

Thank you for supporting this channel. Enjoy the video :)
