Initially developed in the early1970's by the Boston Consulting Group, this tool is also known sometimes as Portfolio analysis and allows a company to analyze and divide up their portfolio of products and/or services in two dimensions, market share and market growth. This allows firms to determine where investment and divestment should happen based on items are classified as cash cows, dogs, stars or question marks.
GroupMap lets you and your team add items to the matrix, position it individually or collaboratively then vote on the key ones for action. You can also rank items and create action items then generate a report that let's you facilitate strategy discussion.
