On October 29th I flew
On October 29th I flew out to ButtonWillow Raceway Park for the debut and press release of AGV's Pista GP R and Corsa R helmets. A handful of industry influencers, racers, builders, brand ambassadors and writers were invited for this exclusive trackday to test the new product.
I can't begin to tell you how honored I was to be in their presence and just over all thrilled to be a part of this event. While we got to ride an assortment of motorcycles I thought what better way to test a race helmet than have the one and only Jason Pridmore tow me around 2up at as close to race pace as possible. I've done 2 2ups with Jason in the past for instructional purposes at his school. However this time I told him to scare the crap outta me, I wanted to feel what it's really like to go fast. Sadly for as many trackday as I've completed this season I do not consider myself as a fast rider. And after riding with Jason I feel like all I'm doing at most trackdays is just rolling around smelling the flowers. Regardless, this experience was one of the most if not the most incredible of my life to this date. The G forges you feel as a passenger at race pace are ridiculous and I could only hold on for 4 laps. Feeling the flex and bucking of the bike was unreal and most times I was wondering how are we not crashing. There was a couple of moments where i even involuntarily yelped out in pure fear. (at about 2:24 we inside bombed past a rider into T1 and I literaly screamed bloody murder in my helmet).
So yes Jason pretty much scared the piss outta me and I must admit I enjoyed every thrilling second of it!
