Is Malacca part of Europe or Asia? I'm confused!

Today I’m in south western Malaysia to visit the beautiful port town of Malacca (Melaka). Melaka is known for its unique east and west history. It has had historical affiliations with the Portugese, Dutch, and English during its rise as a commercial centre of trade. These days it still is a popular trading hub but increasingly known as a famous tourist destination.
