Come along as we take the Glacier Express in Switzerland from the alpine town of Zermatt (home to the Matterhorn) to the ritzy ski resort, St. Moritz and vice versa! The train ride was a glorious 7.5 trip that we would equate to the “Polar Express”. As we boarded the Glacier Express, the conductor called it the “slowest, fastest train” — the glacier express is considered a fast train in Europe but it also slows down as you pass beautiful sites, glacier scenery, waters, tunnels, ski towns, and more.
There is second class, first class and excellence class. We sat in second class but the scenery was comparable to first and excellence. The only difference is the food and drink accommodations as well as the seating (first and excellence have 1 to 1 table and chair whereas second has 4 seats to a table).
