Dividing Mixed Numbers | Grade 6 Math | 6.NS.A.1 💜💙

In this math video we will be dividing mixed numbers to solve a real world problem.  We will draw a picture to represent the problem.  We will solve the problem two ways.  First we will use a visual model or tape diagram to solve.  We will identify the whole and repeatedly at "parts" to complete the whole.  Second, we will solve by multiplying mixed numbers.  We will first rewrite each mixed number as an improper fraction.  We will then rewrite the division as multiplication, also known as keep change flip.  We will multiply the first fraction by the reciprocal of the second.  We will simplify and then multiply the numerators and then multiply the denominators.  We will divide the numerator by the denominator to find the quotient.  An exemplar solution is modeled and explained two ways.
