Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez hold a news conference at Zarzuela Palace.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy was welcomed by Spain´s Prime Minister Pedro Sachez on Monday (May 27) in Madrid.
Zelenskiy will hold a joint news conference with Sanchez after their meeting, where they are expected to announce Spain´s plans to send Patriot missiles and Leopard tanks to Ukraine as part of a 1.13 billion euro ($1.23 billion) weapon package announced last month.
Zelenskiy will hold a meeting with the king after his meeting with Sanchez, the royal household said.
Zelenskiy was scheduled to visit Spain on May 17 but this was postponed, along with all other foreign trips, amid Russia's offensive in the north of the Kharkiv region. Zelenskiy will travel to Portugal on Tuesday (May 28).
