Is it normal to see wear on the front trunnion and the bolt lugs of an AK?

Yes.

In short: the wear is a sign of the marrying process of the AK rifle's bolt and trunnion.

Throughout the first 1,000 or so rounds of an AK's life, a polish begins to show on the lugs of the bolt and on the lugs of the trunnion. This polish is indicative of the marrying process that will ultimately make your rifle a smooth and reliable shooter.

In this video we will show you how the wear on the bolt and trunnion will look at 100, 250, 500, 750, 1,000 and 5,000 rounds.

The wear and polish are in no way problematic. They are simply the visible signs of  the bolt and the trunnion marrying to each other. This marrying process will ultimately result in a rifle whose parts work together seamlessly for tens of thousands of rounds.

As always, the Palmetto State Armory AK-47 rifle carries a 100% Full Lifetime warranty.
