If you're planning a DIY wedding or event, making your own place cards is so simple! We've put together 2 simple designs for you to copy.
Both designs use white ink on vellum paper ..... such an easy but effective technique.
The first design features blush handmade cotton rag card, vellum paper with white print and silk ribbon.
The second design features blush handmade cotton rag card, vellum paper with white print and a beautiful wax stamp.

Both these name card designs are super easy to make yourself. They are relatively low cost and easy to customise. As an extra special detail, all the materials we have used in these designs are eco friendly choices.

HOW TO:
PLACECARD WITH RIBBON
Product list (available from ImagineDIY):
- Blush handmade card panel 6cm x 9cm
- Vellum paper cut to 5cm x 8cm
- 15cm of Silk Closed edge ribbon in Nude Blush
Also …..
- a hole punch
- a white acrylic paint pen (available on Amazon)
- a sharp scissors
- a sheet of a4 paper
INSTRUCTIONS:
- choose a nice font and print your guest names onto a sheet of plain A4 paper.
- take your pre cut vellum panel and place it on top of a guest name. Holding it in place, use your acrylic oen to trace over the text.
- place the vellum panel on top of the handmade card. Use a hole punch to make a hole in the centre of the left side.
- take a 15cm piece of silk ribbon. Fold it in half and push the fold through the hole from the front to the back. Open up the loop of the ribbon at the front of the placecard and pull the loose ends of ribbon through. Tease into place and use a sharp scissors to cut the tail of the ribbon into points.
PLACECARD WITH WAX STAMP

- Blush handmade card panel 6cm x 9cm
- Vellum paper cut to 2.5cm x 8cm
- 3 x White wax beads
- Wild Poppy Wax Stamp
- Wax Furnace and Melting Spoon
- Double sided tape
Also …..
- a hole punch
- a white acrylic paint pen (available on Amazon)
- a sharp scissors
- a sheet of a4 paper
INSTRUCTIONS:
- choose a nice font and print your guest names onto a sheet of plain A4 paper.
- take your pre cut vellum panel and place it on top of a guest name. Holding it in place, use your acrylic oen to trace over the text.
- Put a small piece of double sided tape on the left of the vellum panel. Place the vellum panel on top of the handmade card and press into place.
- Melt the wax using a wax furnace and melting spoon. Once melted, pour the wax on top of the vellum panel (to the left). Press your wax stamp into the pool of wax and allow to set for a few moments. Once the wax has set, remove the stamp and you’re done!
