Our Mittenwald experience; train trip from Munich, visit Karwendelspitze, old town and Leutaschklamm

We started the day early and went to have breakfast at 6 am. We took a short tram ride to Munich Central Station. I was already aware of the platform where to take the train as I have downloaded the DB app. We also didn't have to bother about getting a ticket as we already have the D-ticket that can be used to most public transport services in Germany.
The train ride was comfortable. It took 2 hours from Munich to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. From Garmisch we had to transfer to a bus (which can get full easily as there was only 1 bus at a time), it was another 30 mins journey. In total, it took about 2.5 hrs to get to Mittenwald.
On arrival, we proceeded starightaway to Karwendelbahn. There were no street signs but looking where the cables from the mountain are coming from is easy enough to follow. The cable car is small and can take about 20 people only so it's good that we are early as the queue was fairly short.
We were immedaitely greeted by such amazing views upon reaching the summit. We had a look around at the mountain station first and then went on to the trail to follow the panorama path. The circular walk is only a mile but it took us a while as we did plenty of stops to soak in the scenery.
We had our lunch at the summit restaurant. We didn't feel it was overpriced and food and their own beer were nice.
Again there was only a short queue to the cable car. The walk from Karwendelbahn to the old town wa short and very scenic. The old town has got a quintesential Bavarian feel to it and it was lovely to walk around its streets. It's also nice to witness a traditional Bavarian Christening. We stopped at the Kurpark and rested there for a while.
We then made our way to Leutasch gorge. There are several road signs and we were able to get to the gorge with no problem.  We visited the waterfall first which I believe is in a private land hence there is an entrance fee of 4 euros per person for the maintenance of the walkway. I'd say though that it is very much worth it.
The walk to the Leutasch gorge was mostly uphill from the beginning and it was mainly on a wooded trail. It wasn't busy at the gorge as it was already late afternoon. We followed the steel grating see-through walkway up to the second bridge and then we turned around. We went to the Panorama bridge twice and both times there were no people around.
It was past 7pm when we got back to the bus station. The journey back to Munich was trouble free. Overall, it was such an amazing experience to visit Mittenwald.
