Cutting Spalted Maple Veneer On The Band Saw

The best way to make efficient use of a highly figured wood like spalted maple is to cut it into thin sheets of veneer, and that can then be used to cover a more common material. I got this piece from the tree that I had cut down nearly two years ago, so it has already started to dry. By cutting it thin like this, it will dry even faster, within a month, so I'll be able to use it much sooner.
