This is the Midland 2001
This is the Midland 2001 early version (there are three versions). This November 1981 version is the one with the non-adjustable RX meter.
After service, it now delivers a full 4W output & with receive well above manufacturers specification.
As usual Mr Chippie drove along our 6mile 'difficult terrain for radio' test route. At the 5-mile point, he stopped & did a static check. These radios do not have a low power switch.
Our thanks to Thunderpole for kindly sending the T3000 radio we have in the test vehicle at no cost to us. This is the sole reason for the 'paid promotion' flag.

The messed-up start was the camcorder batttery going flat & having to be swapped quickly.
After service, it now delivers a full 4W output & with receive well above manufacturers specification.
