How Kale is Harvested (in California)

This video demonstrates how kale is harvested and packed in the field.

This video footage was taken at Babé Farms in Santa Maria, California. Kale is hand harvested, based on the maturity of the leaves, so there are multiple passes through the field. The kale leaves are bunched, placed into the plastic totes and then transferred to boxes.
