How To Replace An Igniter On A Pellet Grill. Replacing an igniter really is not that hard but it does take a little time fishing the igniter back though the auger cover back to the wire harness. The new Silicon Nitride igniters from Heat Founder are very fast and very efficient! They make igniters for almost every pellet grill brand and model! I was super impressed when I did the test between a standard old Metal Tube Ignition Rod and the Silicon Nitride Igniter! Some of my newer pellet grills already are using this style of pellet grill igniter and that explains why my newer pellet grills fire up so much quicker!
