Hello and welcome to my guide to Shimokitazawa. I made this travel guide for first-timers to Shimokitazawa and Japan, so I hope you find this useful. The places I go to in this video are places I bring my friends when they come from overseas. :) It's a mix of shopping, eating, and overall sightseeing in Shimokitazawa.

In this video, we start with breakfast at Tekion. There aren't too many cafes or restaurants that are open from 9:00 a.m. so it might be better to explore Shimokitazawa later in the day. After breakfast, we walked to Kitazawa Hachiman-jinja Shrine to stretch our legs and kill time before our next spot opened. We completely underestimated the line to get into Shiro-Hige’s Cream Puff Factory as even if we got there a few minutes before it officially opened, we were pretty far back in line. Thankfully if you opt for takeout the line doesn't take nearly as long as if we were to eat in the cafe. Nearby, I tell you guys where to go for a traditional onsen (hot spring) experience around Shimokitazawa/Setagaya-Daita.
For lunch, we planned to eat at a restaurant across the east exit of Shimokitazawa Station called Shimokita Rokkaku. We were earlier in line this time so we were able to reach the cut-off to their limited menu items. Then we head to 本屋B&B to check out their selection of books and then to Oribe Shimokitazawa to see their collection of fine Japanese pottery. We continue our windowshopping by heading to some places I frequent and some I wanted to visit for the first time - TrefacStyle Shimokitazawa, Flash Disc Ranch, Shimokita Senrogai Open Space, 2nd Street Shimokitazawa and WEGO Shimokitazawa.
At this point, we were walking around the area for two hours so we dropped by The Usual for coffee, matcha and a sweet treat. Our final few stores are places I recommend to grab souvenirs if you're lacking luggage space or on a tight budget - Antique Life Jin for small trinkets, B-Side Label for stickers and Village Vanguard Shimokitazawa for something quirky.
