Drug licence is the permission granted to all those people dealing in the business of drugs. The drug control organization issues two types DL one is #RetailDrugLicense which is issued to a person who runs a chemist shop and another one is a #WholesaleDrug license which is issued to a person who wants to sell drugs on a wholesale level. Obtain a license from the CDSCO or #CentralDrugsStandardControlOrganization under Form 19. If you want to do your business as a wholesaler then you can start your business as a proprietor, partnership firm or as a company.
Basic Requirement for Drug License
Area
To set up a clinical shop or drug store, the basic minimum area should be of 10 square meters. In the event that store business mix with the retail and wholesale than the base region of 15 square meters is required.
Storage
On the premises where #drugs such as vaccines, insulin injections etc are stored it becomes essential to install cooler and air conditioner in that premise.
Technical Staff
The sale of the drug by wholesale shall be made either in the presence of registered pharmacist or in the presence of a competent person who shall be a graduate with 1 year experience in dealing in drugs or a person who has passed S.S.L.C with 4 years’ experience in dealing in drugs, specially approved by the department of drug control.
Documents Required to Obtain Wholesale Drug License
• Constitution of the firm
• Identity proof of proprietor/partner/director
• If you own a property, copy of property paper
• If property is rented, copy of rent agreement
• Site plan and key plan of the area
• Refrigerator invoice
• Affidavit related to MPD 2021(if area is located on DDA residential flat/plot/building)
Registration Procedure for Obtaining Drug License
If you want, you can file drug license application directly with the government. Though, the process is long and will take 30-60 days to complete.
